Its been a while since I posted, but I’m back with a bang. The shape of my final report is becoming clearer now.
There is now a clear roadmap to Scotland entering the race to become the world’s best digital state - the winning of it will be long and uncertain. Estonia is a but a dot on the horizon intermittently obscured by the jostling of the small peloton much closer to us.
Getting into the race requires a variety of adjustments, to parliamentary process, to statutory bodies, to the format of legislation and to the organisation of government. It’s a fiddly-difficult but not complex-difficult set of changes.
Good work is only improved by having people challenge, critique and question it, so I have been taking my interim proposals on the road for the last couple of months and I am bringing them to London on the 19th April.
If you fancy coming along, it’s at 7pm at NewSpeak House in Bethnal Green. Please do register.
